It's Friday...

Usually Fridays are not a big deal for me because I work, however, since I made myself one of the unemployed last week, I actually have a unlimited weekend to look forward to. No mad dash to work today. I know, it's irresponsible to give up a job in an economy where people are losing their jobs through no fault of their own. Me, I'm just to old for the b.s. Being 50, half my life is already spent (if I can make 100), I am certain that there are different ways to make $$. Have a job and have some fun.
Nursing is a thankless job. You hear people say "you guys are like angels", in the next breath, screaming at you because they can't find daddy's socks. Socks, really!?! They're a dollar at the dollar store, buy another pair.
Nursing is the only job that you can be literally shit on, pissed on, spat at and screamed at and your reply is always "Okay, thanks have a good day!"
So I'm relishing this little break even if its only temporary. Must look for job next week...
Health Insurance and all.
I wish you guys out there could see the waste of resources that occur in nursing homes.
The food that we throw away at the end of they day says it all. Never mind the amout of medicines that get dumped monthly. Never mind that your are treating 99 year patients with multiple morbities, who are full codes, who have 37 meds, and who sleep all day.
Just think how this money could be better spent in neo-natal units at the start of life, and in transplant units where young people fight for their life...
Just a thought...

Obama at a town meeting...

Yesterday, President Obama went to California for a "town meeting". Funny, on the campaign trail, he had no interest in a town meeting.. Now that he has the job he's flying cross country for one. Does this guy love to hear himself speak or what?!?!?!
Borack, you already have the job!!!!. I had a lot of hope for him after his inauguration speech,
"even if you didn't vote for me, I am your president to.." Really, what have you done for me lately.
I believe he was not loved enough as a child and has an insatiable need for love and adoration. He's one of these people who pretend their way through life. "Let me hold a town meeting and pretend I'm president." Again, stay at home, and do your job!!! Oh, that's right, I think your just pretending to be president while your hacks do all the work.

You're not a rock star.. you're the President of the United States. You reside in the WHITE HOUSE. Your job is to RUN the Country. Stop Talking already....

The bonuses are coming, the bonuses are coming, the bonuses are coming!

For the last 3 days on every news channel all we hear about are the AIG bonuses. Greta, Glen, Rush, Stewart, etc.. etc.. etc.. can anyone out there come up with different material. Because of 24 hrs news, the airways are filled with repetition. ( I recall CNN covering the Lacy Peterson stories for weeks. ) Really, its filling space and not news.
Yeah its despicable these execs took bonuses in a failing company. Should be, the company doesn't make $$ neither do you. Then again...
Teachers continue to have jobs when kids can't read or write...
Coaches continue to have jobs with losing teams.. (don't even start me with what they get paid)
Senators continue to have jobs, even though their heads are up their asses
Congressman continue to have jobs, even though their pockets are filled with corrupt money.

All of the above are supposedly the "Best and the Brightest " for their positions..

Thanks for the dumbing down of America, people

Happy St. Pattys Day!!

Today, I heard Borack Obama say that his great - great - great grandfather was Irish! lol HaHa.. Now i know where the name Borack O'Bama comes first... I am really laughing my ass off. Is there anything this man won't say.. yes, it does sound believable , but really... how gullible are we?

I think he should be told, he's won the presidency.. now it's time to stop making speeches, stop making guest appearances... stop being in front of the cameras..

Sit awhile in the Oval office and hey, do your job. Let the chair get warm. Think a moment before your speak.. And i don't want to hear anymore thats "It's enery, It's education, It's healthcare.. It's infrastructure.."

Hey, "It's the economy stupid!"

having blogged in a while

I stopped blogging. Felt it was futile. Felt I had so much to say, without anyone to listen.
With the myriad of blogs out there, who cares about mine.. So instead i became a pariah at work. Constantly voicing my political opinions. Keep in mind, I'm trying to speak to people who don't even watch the news!.. I was perceived as the "crazy person who should turn off their radio." Well, I feel that I need to go back to blogging.. So even if I'm talking to myself, at last the ideas are out of my head.

today, i joined Greta's blog. I'm always right on topic. Wrote about how much money was given to politicians from companies like AIG and there should be a demand made that these monies be paid back. Hey, afterall these companies are broke and could use the help.

Hey Chris Dodd, you got over $100,000... give the money back they need it.

An Interview with Barbara Bush

After following the political campaign and the last 2 debates the mantra that keeps playing over in my head is "8 years of the failed policies of George Bush.. 8 years failed policies of George Bush... 8 years failed policies of George... ee ii eee iii ooo.......

With this droning on in my head I thought of Barbara Bush. An image came to mind of an tortoise, hard shelled and sad eyes. Barbara must be a remarably strong women. Having had spent her entire life in politics I'm sure she heard it all. Yet, I can't help but wonder, how she feels about people talking about her son like this. I can imagine Barbara, after George 1 rushed out of the bedroom, leaving his underwear on the floor, attending a ladies auxillary meeting and someone shouting out "you're husbands an asshole", she smiling to herself and saying "yeah he is I had to pick up his underwear again.. bastard."

Yet we moms when we walk into our kids room and see underwear and laundry strewn about we think "dam, can't these kids pick up after themselves." Still, we bend over and lovingly fold the laundry, sometimes holding it close to us, patting the top of the pile, feeling an inexplicable bond that connects us to another person that words cannot describe.

So what would Barbara Bush say when asked how she felt about people talking about her son like this. Knowing her character, the generation she was raised in, her understanding of politics I'm sure she would say.. "It hurts us... George is doing the best he can... He has tried to make his mark... We're proud of him... " I'm sure she would not go the way of todays moms:
"Your kid broke my window,.... your window should not have been there"
"Your kid stole my money.... your money should have been put away."
"Your kid has to sit the bench.... why, he's the best on the team"

Can you imagine the interview:
Barbara you son bombed Irag... "Yeah, well they called him names first. nana nana nana"

Short of my kids becoming the next Jeffrey Dahmer, I cannot think of a reason, or anything that they can do that would make me love them any less. I'm positive Barbara feels the say way.
Hey, despite his inability to articulate well, George Bush is not Jeffrey Dahmer. George Bush right now is consider by some the worse president ever, however, if any of us where history scholars (I'm not), I'm sure we would find he is on par with every other president.

This brings me to the new movie coming out, W. I saw the trailer for this yesterday. I want to tell the writers, producers, editors of this film how lucky they are to live in a country that protects freedom of speech and the right of freedom of expression. How lucky they are that they live in a country where they wouldn't be exciled, wouldn't be hung, wouldn't be shot in the head in the middle of a soccer field. I will not be seeing this movie. I hope most Americans won't see this movie. It lessons the dignity of the highest office of the land, that of President of the United States. Movies such as these tell the world that our leader is a buffoon, thus so are we because we voted for him. It demeans President Bush . Despite what his critics think , President Bush is all but only human. Having him as food for satire lowers us to the depths of Jerry Springer and Maury Povich.

Barbara, this is a thought for you.. If this were my child being ridiculed I do every talk show touting whatever George did that was good. I would let Americans know that it takes someone special to have have the guts, fortitude, and strength to have convictions and to stand by them.
I would tell Americans... leave my kid alone.

TRUTH SQUADS!!!

Borack Obama's presidential campaign has engaged prosecutors and sheriffs in Missouri to monitor ads looking for falsehoods and lack of truths. They state that they will use the law to prosecute anyone who puts out youtubes and political ads that mock or falsely accuse Obama.

Really?? truth in politics... should the two words be in the same sentence.

I somewhat agree that negative campaigning is ineffective. As mentioned in a previous blog, I want candidates to tell me what they are going to do, not what their opponent won't do.

I think we should take these truth squads a step further. When Borack Obama or his camp state things that are "good" that he has done, let's make sure the truth squads can verify this.
Like when he says, "I told Congress about Fannie Mae 2 years ago" Beep ... lie.

I say at the next debate lets hook up both candidates to a lie detector. When they answer a question the commentator can reply "Uh, Senator, thats a lie.."

Just like the reality Show, (whatever it's name is ) I think that would make for great TV.

How about you?
